International Affairs Specialist

 

Responsibilities

International collaborations

  • Participate in international campaigns
  • Represent EAST in international animal protection coalitions including the International Coalition for Animal Welfare (ICFAW), the Open Wing Alliance (OWA) and Asia for Animals (AfA)
  • Increase EAST’s international presence through the translation of organizational materials, maintenance of EAST’s English website and sharing of campaign updates
  • Invite international speakers to participate in key stakeholder events
  • Support local campaigns in Taiwan
     

International research

  • Keep up-to-date with international developments in animal protection to inform movement strategy in Taiwan
  • Compile international laws and regulations, industry developments, and academic research
  • Establish connections with international organizations and facilitate the exchange of resources

 

International fundraising

  • Coordinate with colleagues to formulate annual fundraising targets and grant goals
  • Write fundraising applications, progress reports and financial reports
  • Communicate progress and challenges to grantmakers, fostering open and communicative relationships

 

Role requirements

  • Strong passion for animal protection
  • Professional English reading, writing and communication abilities
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and able to solve problems
  • Comfortable multitasking, managing competing deadlines and identifying work priorities
  • Familiarity with Effective Altruism (EA) is a plus
  • At least one year of work experience
  • Non-local applicants should have intermediate or high-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and intend to reside in Taiwan

 

※ EAST is able to help non-local applicants to apply for a work permit (subject to fulfilling requirements of the Ministry of Labor)

 

Working days: Monday to Friday
Location: Office located in Taipei City
Salary: Salary negotiable, determined based on experience and adjusted based on performance (upwards of NTD $42,000 per month)
Benefits: We provide employees with Labor Insurance and National Health Insurance in accordance with Taiwan’s regulations, in addition to an end of year bonus
